David qualified as a CA then worked overseas with PKF in Sydney, Australia before joining Haines Watts on his return to the UK.
After a short spell within the business services department David specialised in forensic accounting and set up HW Forensic Accountants in Scotland.
David is currently a director with HW Forensic Accountants where he is involved in a wide range of forensic accounting matters, civil, commercial and criminal investigations and expert witness work including giving evidence in Court.
David's specialisms include:

David qualified in 1978 and spent 10 years working for major firms worldwide. He became a Chartered Loss Adjuster and Chartered Insurance Practitioner and joined HW in 1999 as the Forensic Accountancy and Litigation Support Partner. David specialises in expert witness and claims advice for both litigation and commercial claims.

Duncan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 and held senior positions with KPMG for 13 years before joining Reynolds, a predecessor firm of Haines Watts in Exeter. Duncan specialises in expert witness engagements and has many years of experience in civil and criminal forensic accountancy - he has given evidence in Court on numerous occasions. Duncan’s areas of expertise include divorce finance, environmental and fishery claims, commercial disputes, and personal injury and clinical negligence claims.
Areas of specialism:

• Share and business valuation

He is an accredited and experienced commercial mediator, a member of the Academy of Experts, and participates in the Civil Mediation Council.
Duncan is a highly regarded lecturer on finance and law for MBL Seminars and a non-executive director of an NHS Foundation Trust hospital.

Caroline qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004, before joining Reynolds (a predecessor firm of Haines Watts) in order to specialise in forensic accounting and expert witness engagements. Caroline’s areas of expertise include divorce finance, business valuations, commercial disputes, and personal injury and clinical negligence claims.

Lisa joined Haines Watts in March 2008 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and specialising in the internal and external audit of Public Services clients. Lisa is now a forensic accountant whose role encompasses the preparation of company valuations for small to medium sized businesses and reporting on loss of profits cases, commercial disputes, fraud and dependency cases.

Louise qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2005 and is based in HW's Farnborough office where she is a member of both the technical tax and the forensic accounting departments. In 2011, Louise qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser, receiving prizes in two of her exams for achieving the highest mark and a further prize for the second highest total mark in the country. Given Louise's experience she is able to assist in the following areas:
• Company, partnership and sole trader valuations
• Preparation and review of Forms E
• Technical tax, and in particular capital gains tax, matters associated with the ownership or disposal of assets
• Tax and accounting advice in respect of the sale, transfer and re-organisation of businesses and companies
• Tax and accounting advice in respect of the sale, transfer and re-organisation of businesses and companies
• Resolving tax assessments with HM Revenue & Customs in probate cases
• Professional negligence
Louise is well known for her approachable and friendly manner and the practical way in which she deals with sensitive and often highly complex situations.
Together with her forensic colleagues, she is committed to the provision of high quality forensic advice in the South East.

David qualified in 1976 with top ten practice, Grant Thornton. He joined Haines Watts in 1985 and became a partner at Wolverhampton in 1986. David has over 25 years experience in dealing with owner-managed businesses.
